Describe an international law that you know
1. What the law is?
2. Who the law applies to?
3. What do you think about the law?
Well, I’d like to talk about a law, a treaty to put it more precisely, which is probably one of the most controversial laws on the international list. It is the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, or NPT for short, which was enacted as a way to ensure countries’ compliance with the condition that are required to mass-produce nuclear. Under the provision of this law, nations are only allowed to seek nuclear power for peaceful purposes only, like energy or medical treatment. Moving on to talk about who this treaty applies to, this piece of legislation is the most religiously followed out of any armed and disarmament laws in the entire world. In fact, every country in the world has signed this treaty at one point with the exception of India, South Sudan, Pakistan and Israel. And not surprisingly, North Korea was the only country to withdraw from the treaty. Personally, I think this law is very reasonable and therefore should be widely advocated, due to many reasons. For example, it really keeps nuclear from being generated for evil purposes such as wars. On top of that, it still encourages the use of nuclear for the greater good in the field of power production and medicine.
