Technology is the savior: technology helps people broaden their knowledge, which will help them to innovate new solutions to the environmental problems.
It is true that currently most environmental pollution is due to the advancements in technology. It is still a heated debate whether people should continue to develop technology or not. Some people believe that people should live simpler lives to solve this problem, while others believe that technology is the key to help people tackle this pollution. Personally, I agree that technology is a savior to today’s biggest issue.
On one hand, some people state that a simpler lives can contribute to better environment. This means that people should rely less on technology by reducing the work of some industrial factories to save the air and the ocean. Moreover, people may stop using vehicles like motorbike or car, but instead walking a riding a bike. It is undeniably true that air pollution is attributed to the emissions from factory, and exhausted fumes from vehicles. Additionally, people should try to reduce their consumption of electricity so that the exploitation of natural resources such as fossil fuels or nuclear power can be minimized. By stopping all these deplorable factors to environmental problems, the earth will be cleaner and safer for human beings. An example of this idea is the annual event called Earth Hour where everyone is asked to turn their lights off for sixty minutes.
On the other hand, some people argue that technology can save the world from these environmental issues, and I agree with this statement. Technology helps people broaden their horizons, explore more complicated things, which will help them to innovate new solutions to the environmental problems. It is impossible to stop people from developing and augmenting in the 4.0 revolution, where the Internet, technologies and even artificial intelligence are advanced. Instead, people should use their knowledge to save the planet. It is a more practical solution. For example, people can invent technology to filter the exhausted fumes from factories and vehicles before emit to the atmosphere. Furthermore, they can discover new energy from the renewable resources.
In conclusion, despite the fact that technology does harm the environment, I believe people can also turn the table and make it a solution to the problems.
