There are several reasons why people put effort into finding more information about their past. One of the most primary ones is because knowing one’s root is very important. It’s the most credible resources about who you are, where you come from or is there anything special about your background. On one hand, doing research involves a lot of money, physical strength, and effort. It is considered a waste of time because knowing about the past does not have any advantage in one’s life. But on the other hand, it also demonstrates that people pay attention to their root. This will result in the enhancement in the spiritual life and also help to raise the young generation’s awareness about their history, which is a lack in modern world. According to psychology, spiritual life is one element of a person; it has the power to heal one’s emotional wound and empower one’s mentally strength. It’s also a chance for everyone to live slow, think hard and reminisce about their great grandfather, about how one is born. Hence, personally, I thinks the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
In conclusion, I believe that research about one’s history is a very good promotion to one’s spiritual life. Not only does it help people to know everything about their roots, but it also helps people to be proud of who they are. So I think it is worth time and money to learn more about one’s history.
