Today, I would like to talk to you about a time when I had to seek advice on my future career directions. A couple of months ago, I entered me senior year in my high school, and it was time for me to decide on what to major in. And I could only pick from Accounting, Marketing, International Business , Economics, and Finance. Most importantly, I only had a handful of days to make up my mind since I was a third year student already. Now, as human beings, we are entitled to our opinions and thus are able to determined our own courses of action independently. However, there come times when we have to face really difficult decisions and we simply cannot carry the load without some help from the others. And since I did not have the stomach to settle this on my own, I came to my mom for some help because she is the one who knows me the most and therefore can help me with my decision. I walked her through the situation and after that she asked what I thought about each specialization. After the talk, she suggested me to give a shot to finance because she thinks I have a good command of it since I am always the one who cares about my family’s expense each month and I am also very good at handling money. On top of that, this major also makes me become more financially responsible. I spend a couple of days thinking about my mom’s advice and I eventually decided to have a crack at finance. And now I know that I have the best decision in my life with my mom’s advice as I am really doing well with it at school and it kept growing on me. So I think, in the near future, I will keep working with Finance for my college years and hopefully that after my graduation, I can work at a bank and help people manage their money. Personally, I am much better at handling my finances too.
