IELTS SPEAKING: TOPIC MỚI 2020 PART 1 VÀ MODEL ANSWERS (part 1)

1.Pens and pencils

Do you prefer to use a pen or pencil for writing?

Model: For me, personally, I’d prefer a pen. Because it’s smoother, and it has a feeling of permanence. I guess it’s kind of a habit I have. I only ever use a pencil for drawing or sketching.

When was the last time you bought a pen or a pencil?

I buy pens on a regular basis because it tends to have a habit of disappearing. You know, I buy a box of ten pens and within a week I’ve got one left.

What do you think if someone gives you a pen or a pencil as a gift?

Without a doubt, I’d be astounded most especially if I get a Parker fountain pen. You know that kind of pen costs an arm and a leg, so I don’t think I can contain my happiness if I get one. But anyway, I don’t mind if the pen is not expensive, the fact that the person gives me a present is what I care the most.

2.Running

Do you like running?

Yes, I’m kind of really into it. Actually, it has just become my hobby for two years. When I was younger, I didn’t really enjoy running as I thought it is too physically demanding for me. However, two years ago I started going running and jogging with my mom at the park near my house and now it becomes my interest.

How often do you go for a run?

As I’m usually busy with my study, I can only run twice a month – not much! Yes, I know the amazing benefits of running but I just don’t have the luxury of time to do that kind of exercise. Although, I don’t run often, I still keep myself fit through walking. Actually, I walk to school everyday.

Where do you usually go running?

As I’ve told you earlier, there is a park near my house so it ‘s very easy to get there and do some running every afternoon when I have some free time. I sometimes go running at the gym when it’s rainy.

Do you think running is a good way to stay healthy?

Yes, definitely and I couldn’t underestimate the benefits of running! Running can surely help us build strong bones, strengthen muscles, maintain a healthy weight, improve cardiovascular fitness, and many more. This is a kind of exercise that is easy to do and everyone can do without buying any special equipment. Sadly, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!

3. Laugh and laughter

Do you enjoy watching movies or TV shows that make people laugh?

Well, who doesn’t? We all binge-watch comical motion pictures or TV shows like ‘Just For Laughs’ every now and again to make us entertained and at least forget about our troubles even for a short while. Honestly, they’re like my happy pill whenever I feel down in the dumps.

Do you usually make your friends laugh?

I believe I do, and well, everyone of us loves to make each other laugh. We love to crack jokes most especially when we feel like we’ve started to become serious. I reckon, we don’t treat life very seriously and I think that makes our bond stronger as we share the same perspective on life.

Are you the kind of person who loves making people laugh?

Yes definitely! I just love making people laugh, I think it’s an innate character of mine. I suppose, I get this jolly and flamboyant personality from my mom. My mom has a boisterous laugh but not annoying and it’s really contagious. In fact, she’s popular in our village because of her personality and so am I.
